Laurence the Lumberjack

For illustration class - we had to come up with an idea for a pulp fiction novel and design the cover.

My synopsis:

Laurence Willis is daring, dashing, and undoubtedly the manliest man in the forest. His homeland fraught with wild bears rampaging through the forests from the east, Laurence takes his craft of lumberjacking to the next level in order to protect his friends and family from the rampant wild animals. When he gets word that his childhood sweetheart, a beautiful mermaid by the name of Marissa, has been kidnapped by a deranged giant squid, he must venture out of his familiar forest and into the harsh winds of the sea to save the innocent maiden.
